Other works I’ve completed during the pandemic

This heart went to the first responders in Nova Scotia

Art Hits the Wall Exhibit

I was delighted to be a part of the Art Hits the Wall Virtual Exhibit this summer (Rughooking Guild of Nova Scotia)!  My submission was inspired by a road trip around Iceland with my eldest daughter a few years ago. The exhibit theme was “Old Properties”.  I chose a series of small out buildings that were a view from the kitchen window at a farm stay.

The Acorn Studio

This is definitely a very different summer in the art world given we are in the midst of a global pandemic. Thus far the maritime provinces have faired well and the the maritime provinces are open to a travel bubble within New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, PEI and Newfoundland!   Galleries are slowly and safely opening up in some cases.  I have alot of my rughookings for sale on the website for The Acorn Studio on Mountain Road in Moncton, NB They are open and also have the following website, www.theacornstudio.com

Moncton Library Board Event 100 Artists for the Moncton Library

This is my finished punch hooking and mixed fibre artwork submitted to the Moncton Library for their upcoming  fundraiser event in May 2020.  100 artists take part in the event and all art is 6x6.  My inspiration for this piece is from my daughters images she’s shared with me whilst working at a ski lodge in New Zealand. I’ve titled it LAKE OHAU.  I hope to see it in person for myself one day.  Also looking forward to the 100 Artists for the Moncton Public Library event in May!! Update, the event did not take place due to Covid-19 and I did get a chance to visit New Zealand this past winter to experience this beautiful view!!
